The First Half Term of the School Year
“Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.” — William Shakespeare, Macbeth
As we reach the end of the first half of our Autumn Term, I would like to take a moment
to thank our pupils, families and staff for all their hard work and support over the past few weeks. There has been so much happening across Orchard Manor School, and it has been wonderful to see our young people getting involved in so many different opportunities. Lots of Halloween activities have been going on across the school and the residence - even the Kitchen Team got involved and made spooky cup-cakes for today. You can see them on our social media pages.
A fantastic day of sport
A real highlight this week was the SEN football competition at Coach Road in Newton Abbot, which was attended by over 100 Orchard Manor students and staff.
Our students achieved some excellent results, but even more importantly, their behaviour throughout the day was outstanding. They represented Orchard Manor brilliantly, showing teamwork, encouragement, respect and great sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and would like to thank the staff who helped make the day such a success.
Half-term reminder
A quick reminder that we break up today for half term - 23rd October at 3:40pm.
There is an additional non-pupil day on Monday 2nd November, so pupils will return to school on Tuesday 3rd November at 9:10am.
We hope everyone enjoys a well-earned break.
Stay safe
With the very stormy weather affecting our part of the country today, please take extra care if you are travelling or out and about. We hope all our families, staff and wider school community stay safe and cosy as the weather passes through.
Save the date! 🎄ðŸŽ
Looking a little further ahead, we are excited to be holding our Christmas Cabaret on Tuesday 8th December, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
It promises to be a wonderfully festive evening full of entertainment and Christmas cheer, so please pop the date in your diary. We will share more details after half term.
Finally, thank you once again for all your support this half term. There is always so much to celebrate at Orchard Manor, and we are incredibly proud of everything our students continue to achieve.
Have a lovely half term, stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 3rd November.
