Assistant Headteacher/SENCO

We are looking for an experienced and passionate future leader and SEN practitioner who will work to transform our pupils’ life chances.  Can you think strategically and train and develop others to be the best they can be?  Do you want to be part of a curriculum design team that puts personal development at the heart of what we do, yet has high aspirations for students academically so they can fulfil their aspirations?  Do you have good organisational and communication skills, that can bring multiple agencies and disciplines together around a table?  Will you support us in our continuing trajectory of rapid school improvement?

Orchard Manor School is part of the Special Partnership Trust. We are a special school with a residential provision that caters for nearly 200 students aged 3-19. We provide education and care for pupils with communication and interaction difficulties, Autistic spectrum conditions and learning needs.

We structure our curriculum around our students’ identified needs to enable them to develop holistically. Alongside academic progress we are committed to supporting our pupils to develop their life and social skills, confidence and resilience, and love of learning, to promote their sense of achievement and self-worth.

Our goal is to prepare our young people for adulthood when they leave us, whether that be employment, further education, training, or living as independently as possible whilst contributing positively within their community.

           

Our school values drive everything we do. We imagine our young people at 25 and beyond, then work back from there as part of a person-centred approach.  As a team, we are clear that we are caring for, and educating, the next generation to be as independent as they possibly can.
