Physical Disabilities Super Sports Day

On Friday 7 November 2025 the PE Team and Sports Leaders hosted and ran two Super Sports Days for children with physical disabilities from mainstream schools across Devon. We had primary pupils in the morning and secondary pupils in the afternoon.  This fantastic event was held in conjunction with the Physical Disabilities Team from Devon County Council.

Our young Sports Leaders planned the differentiated activities in their Sports Leadership lesson and then delivered them on the day.  Once again, they were fantastic and impressed everyone with their positive attitude, empathy, and adaptability.

All the children taking part left with big smiles on their faces and positive feelings about physical activity.

Our Sports Leaders made a big impression on everyone, and we are extremely proud of how they looked after our visitors by helping where needed and encouraging all the children to have a go and have fun.

Kelly Foster from the  SEND Support Services, sent this message to Catherine, our Sports Lead afterwards:

"I wanted to send an enormous thank you to you and all the staff for such a wonderful day on Friday. I drove back with so many memories of happy, smiling faces from all the children, and wonderful comments from both children and parents about what a successful session it was.

It was an absolute joy to see all the children completely included in every activity, and where some activities were more challenging, your staff and students sensitively adapted the session to meet their needs.

Although your staff were superb, my greatest praise is for your superb student sports leaders. They were simply outstanding and were a credit to the school.  I am delighted we have created such a great partnership. Thank you so much for all of your hard work."
